Tips For Being a Super Secret Spy

Being a spy for your country may not seem like an honorable endeavor by all, but there is definitely a need for those who are willing to put their lives on the line to fulfill a country's agenda to protect it's citizens against foreign threats. Spies must be trained in foreign languages and customs. They must also be at ease in any foreign or potentially hostile setting. The most important asset any spy will have, though, is the availability of good support. No spy can survive on their own like in the popular movies, relying on their own guile and charm. The availability of good intelligence of their setting is key. A spy must know what is on the ground available to them as assets. These assets can be in the form of friendly contacts, "safe houses", currency, and of course - equipment. Equipment available to the spy can appear in the form of weapons and various gadgets. Useful tools or gadgets may resemble those found in popular movies, surprisingly. One of my favorite gadgets is the cufflink. The cufflink is an all around versatile container of any manner of surprises, and is socially acceptable to wear in any social setting. Cufflinks can contain poison, for example, which can be used to innocuously and quickly slip a tasteless and odorless assassin's tablet into a foreign diplomat's drink. Cufflinks can even contain highly reactive chemicals which can create a smokescreen or violent blast that can be used to cover one's escape. Probably the most common and down to earth use for a cufflink, though is to house a small transmitter-receiver used to keep in contact with friendly forces nearby. Modern technology allows for such devices to be able to fit into the size of a screw-apart cufflink. Even a digital camera which can be used to capture photos of the top secret plans of your enemy can fit into a cufflink! All in all, a spy must truly have a wide variety of skills. Being able to speak many languages and disappear into any cultural setting is important. Access to locations which can be used to hide out is also important. Like any spy would probably tell you, though, is that he or she is only as good as the support they receive from back home. Just remember, before you leave for your next mission make sure you have a good assortment of trick cufflinks at your disposal!
