These designer cufflinks will be the talk of the artists’ circle. You can wear it anywhere – to a formal charity dinner, a casual art show or, even better, an art auction featuring Da Vinci’s works. Be careful you don’t get auctioned off, though.

Owning art cufflinks is just as pleasurable as owning any other work of art. Choosing them requires just as much thought because you would not want to own something that does not represent your personal tastes and style. You would have to pick accessories that complement your collections. Unique designer cufflinks are especially desirable because these ones are not likely to be mass produced then sold at the five and dime store.

Certainly, you’d want something that adds more value to you rather than something that will only bring you down. Value is something that you’re sure to get with a good quality Mona Lisa reproduction such as what is printed on these Mona Lisa cufflinks.

Fellow art enthusiasts will likely be unable to resist commenting on your unique cufflinks. It may be a good idea to practice your own Mona Lisa smile precisely to send a simple but witty response to any quip they may come up with. Either way, it’s a conversation starter, particularly when you wear it to art events. Even if you decide to wear it with something more casual during a simple day out, you’d probably still be likely to draw some attention. After all, who doesn’t recognize the Mona Lisa?

The Perfect Smile as a Perfect Gift

September 4th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Novelty Cufflinks

cufflinks art mona lisa large 01 The Perfect Smile as a Perfect GiftIt’s just like walking in the Louvre only that you get to look at the Mona Lisa whenever you feel like looking at it. And you sure know how other museum visitors envy you.

Have you heard the story about it’s theft in the early 1900s? A Louvre employee named Vincenzo Peruggia had the guts to steal the painting for the most stupid of all reasons: nationalism. And please don’t tell me that you traveled all the way here to Paris to be proud of your country. Well, the hard fact is that majority of your people don’t even have an idea what Mona Lisa is. How much more about who she is and what she’s smiling at?

But to continue the story, Vincenzo took the opportunity of having access in the Louvre. Since this was when bulletproof glass has yet to be invented, it was easy for the guy to just carry and hide it in a broom closet.

Of course, in almost 400 years of its existence, who would have thought someone would steal the Mona Lisa? And who would have thought that it would be done in the most unscheming of ways? Vincenzo, immediately that night, took out the painting by hiding it under his coat. Now who would’ve suspected a criminal would do that?

Maybe that’s why in Italy, they still consider him a patriot. All he wanted was for the Mona Lisa be displayed in its home country. But how about you, foreign traveler who would have to negotiate exchange rates in order to see the Mona Lisa? You even bought designer cufflinks, art cufflinks bearing the Mona Lisa painting showing your ignorant reverence to it. Well, what would you feel if that would be stolen from you by an Italian who would reason that it belongs to Italy? What if I shove my gun in your side and ask you to give me the Mona Lisa cufflinks? What if I love Italy so much I’d kill for her?
