Following Old Instructions and How to Read Between the Lines

February 2nd, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Automotive Cufflinks

cufflinks automotive gear shift button covers large 01 Following Old Instructions and How to Read Between the LinesJust like how the old instruction from the experts goes: If you’re being kind of reckless, try shifting gears! But without a car, it would be ridiculous to take the saying in its literal sense. Of course, you can only shift gears when you’re driving your car, or a dilapidated but still able schoolbus, or dumptruck, or a fifth-hand van sold for nine hundred dollars; you can’t possibly do so without them. That’s why the capacity of understanding statements according to what it says in its figurative condition would prove very, very essential.

Of course, the essential figure we’re talking about is the dollar sign. Since logic has allowed us to infer that shifting gears is impossible without a vehicle, then a substitute that would count as a vehicle despite of its nature being, in truth, a non-vehicle, would prove vital for the affirmation of the saying as one that is not merely wordplay but in fact, grounded in real situations and therefore has the capacity to invite people to relate to it.

And this is of course something we can acquire with the essential figure. But mind you, it’s not because it’s sterling silver cufflinks. For what is the metaphor for if the only consideration of understanding it is to treat it as ornaments? Automotive cufflinks are especially made to fit the mood and to accompany the metaphor. Among the line of automotive cufflinks are Gear Shifter Button Cufflinks which would remind a person to follow that old advice to switch away from being reckless to be swayed towards a direction leading to commitment, passion and idealism.

Flaunt the Message, Not the Intention

December 1st, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Automotive Cufflinks

cufflinks automotive nascar large Flaunt the Message, Not the IntentionFans of NASCAR have only one thing to keep in mind once the cheering and prancing around is over and done with: they have to tell the world how much they love NASCAR and how cool it is to be a fan. They don’t do it just because they think it’s true. They don’t do it to attract others to become fans of NASCAR. Heck, they don’t even do it to promote NASCAR.

They do it to assert their identity. They got this illusion that what they really are is the accumulation of what they love, what they do and what they want to do. That’s why when fans of NASCAR wear automotive cufflinks, they don’t wear just another car cufflinks or whatever. They have to own the official NASCAR Cufflinks—official, complete with a certificate of authenticity.

It’s just silver cufflinks after all, right? But no. These people, they don’t want others to think that their flaunting. That’s why whenever they want to tell the world how much they love something, it has to be through an object that has other function than merely telling what they want to tell. If it is possible to find out whether subliminal messages are truly effective, they would gladly take advantage of that. But the least they can do is to wear NASCAR cufflinks as if others won’t notice their intention to flaunt that they are a NASCAR fan.

The key here is to flaunt what you want to flaunt and hide your intentions of flaunting it. Too bad, keen eyes see every angle.

Cufflinks for the Fidgety Ring Bearer

June 10th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Automotive Cufflinks

My little boy had been asked if he wanted to be the ring bearer for my sister’s wedding. He was so excited even though he didn’t know what a ring bearer did! I told him that he would have a very important part to play in the wedding and that he would have to dress very smartly to be allowed to hold the rings. This he didn’t like, as he had never worn a suit before.

By the end of it I think the seamstress had put more pins in him than the suit. This put him in a bad mood right up until the wedding. I knew I had to do something because I couldn’t have him fidgeting at the altar so I went to find something that would cheer him up a bit. I thought maybe some automotive cufflinks would do the trick as he loved cars to bits! I found a pair of steering wheel cufflinks and as soon as I put them on he stopped moving about and was a perfectly behaved little boy. Unfortunately my plan backfired when he went to show my sister his new cufflinks at the altar and dropped the rings! We found the rings eventually (after they had rolled under one of the pews) and there were no hard feelings but my son didn’t seem bothered, he was just so excited about his new cufflinks!
