These designer cufflinks will be the talk of the artists’ circle. You can wear it anywhere – to a formal charity dinner, a casual art show or, even better, an art auction featuring Da Vinci’s works. Be careful you don’t get auctioned off, though.

Owning art cufflinks is just as pleasurable as owning any other work of art. Choosing them requires just as much thought because you would not want to own something that does not represent your personal tastes and style. You would have to pick accessories that complement your collections. Unique designer cufflinks are especially desirable because these ones are not likely to be mass produced then sold at the five and dime store.

Certainly, you’d want something that adds more value to you rather than something that will only bring you down. Value is something that you’re sure to get with a good quality Mona Lisa reproduction such as what is printed on these Mona Lisa cufflinks.

Fellow art enthusiasts will likely be unable to resist commenting on your unique cufflinks. It may be a good idea to practice your own Mona Lisa smile precisely to send a simple but witty response to any quip they may come up with. Either way, it’s a conversation starter, particularly when you wear it to art events. Even if you decide to wear it with something more casual during a simple day out, you’d probably still be likely to draw some attention. After all, who doesn’t recognize the Mona Lisa?

Honoring Artwork by Wearing Artistic Pieces

February 16th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Connoisseur Cufflinks

cufflinks art starry night thumb 01 Honoring Artwork by Wearing Artistic PiecesIs visiting museums the first thing you plan to do when you happen to spend the day in a new city? Have you always wanted to visit the Louvre de Paris just so you can view Da Vinci’s paintings? Are you even thinking of changing your last name to Picasso?

If you answer “yes” to any of the above questions, you can rank yourself among the lovers of art. Not many people have the capacity to appreciate classic works of art; hence, you can count yourself amongst the privileged and wise. You are probably used to attending formal dinners, fund raisers or art auctions where people dress to the hilt for that one special night. Everyone struggles to arrive in outfits elegant enough to appropriately honor the excellence of execution apparent in each art piece on display.

The formal dress code, however, need not be boring or too simple. Men, especially, tend to think that formal occasions call for the simplest of outfits and come only with watches as accessories. We must not forget, however, that the occasion celebrates art. Will you not at least consider wearing designer cufflinks? Honor the theme by wearing appropriate art cufflinks. Everyone in attendance would probably hold a piece of artistic spirit, after all. They would surely appreciate the details of your clothing. Imagine wearing Starry Night Cufflinks to a charity auction featuring works by Van Gogh! You would probably be the talk of the town. Not many would be as resourceful or have as much confidence to find and wear something so unique and interesting?

The Perfect Smile as a Perfect Gift

September 4th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Novelty Cufflinks

cufflinks art mona lisa large 01 The Perfect Smile as a Perfect GiftIt’s just like walking in the Louvre only that you get to look at the Mona Lisa whenever you feel like looking at it. And you sure know how other museum visitors envy you.

Have you heard the story about it’s theft in the early 1900s? A Louvre employee named Vincenzo Peruggia had the guts to steal the painting for the most stupid of all reasons: nationalism. And please don’t tell me that you traveled all the way here to Paris to be proud of your country. Well, the hard fact is that majority of your people don’t even have an idea what Mona Lisa is. How much more about who she is and what she’s smiling at?

But to continue the story, Vincenzo took the opportunity of having access in the Louvre. Since this was when bulletproof glass has yet to be invented, it was easy for the guy to just carry and hide it in a broom closet.

Of course, in almost 400 years of its existence, who would have thought someone would steal the Mona Lisa? And who would have thought that it would be done in the most unscheming of ways? Vincenzo, immediately that night, took out the painting by hiding it under his coat. Now who would’ve suspected a criminal would do that?

Maybe that’s why in Italy, they still consider him a patriot. All he wanted was for the Mona Lisa be displayed in its home country. But how about you, foreign traveler who would have to negotiate exchange rates in order to see the Mona Lisa? You even bought designer cufflinks, art cufflinks bearing the Mona Lisa painting showing your ignorant reverence to it. Well, what would you feel if that would be stolen from you by an Italian who would reason that it belongs to Italy? What if I shove my gun in your side and ask you to give me the Mona Lisa cufflinks? What if I love Italy so much I’d kill for her?

Necessary Transformations from the Cuffs to your Personality

September 2nd, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Novelty Cufflinks

cufflinks art starry night large 01 Necessary Transformations from the Cuffs to your PersonalityYou are left alone for the night, all alone in your room with your dreams as the only one to accompany you. Your dream? To be cosmic. To become the origin of everything, not as God for you do not believe in such, but as the very first explosion.

But then you have to control your mood swings. You are very frustrated for not exerting more effort in studying Math and Science as a young boy. Back then, you were the opposite of the systematic and the objective. Your emotions ruled you. You gave more weight to spontaneity and intuition. You loved the arts more for you consider it free and more liberal compared to a more unsparing and rigid world the sciences offer you. But then you gave equal importance to both of them. You were very volatile.

As you look outside the window, you remembered Van Gogh, whose works you knew very well, when he was still in the sanitarium. There, he first sketched what would then be known as “Starry Night.” You also knew very well that Van Gogh painted “Starry Night” without the sketch, and instead depended from memory. Suddenly, the sky swirled into froth, the stars’ point sparkles became blunt then radiated like bulbs interrogating the town lying in the belly of the hills, helpless to the dark blues and indigos. You saw the moon rotate without leaving its spot in the sky and already knew the physics behind such an occurrence. To describe it in respect to its materiality, you say, it’s pretty redeeming after all those years of rabid interpretation. And yes, you’ve learned from it.

You could be thinking of buying designer cufflinks now. You could be thinking that leaving art behind in favor of science is too much, that’s why you’ll be choosing art cufflinks to remind you of your youth. And you are to choose the Starry Night cufflinks to at least make you want to explode again.
