cufflinks connoisseur vodka large Cufflinks For The Vodka LoverDespite popular belief, vodka is not Russian, it has its beginnings in 11th century Persia when they learned to distill ethanol from grape must. Of course it was only used for medicine back then, One famous medicine can be produced by you, and it works wonderfully for muscle aches and pains; no you cannot drink it,. Just fill a jar with lavender flowers and vodka. Set it in the sun for three days. It makes one of the best muscle pain relievers you can imagine.  It was not until the early 1300’s that vodka was produced as an alcoholic beverage. An Italian monk used the Persian technique and created “Aqua Vitae”, this is the base alcohol from which all other liquors come; Schnapps, Whiskey, Brandy, Cognac and Vodka. It was not until the late 1300’s that a merchant brought Vodka to Russia, and the legend began. Of course the Russian countryside is not applicable for grape production, so they processed rye for ethanol instead. Vodka has proven to be an American favorite over the years, and with the creation of flavored vodkas there is even more demand for it. It was James Bond’s favorite mixer and he asked for it by name in his famous line in all his movies; “Vodka Martini, shaken, not stirred”.
