Stop Wearing Summer Sandals or You’ll Make Global Warming Even Worse!
There are wedding cufflinks that begin to lose its brilliance after continuous exposure to the sun. Some gambling cufflinks were even recalled from the market after revealing cracks from too much exposure from casino lights. These aren’t isolated cases. The earth’s heat is increasing by the year. Not only heat, in fact the weather itself has changed a lot. Farmers and fisher folk now experience difficulty in predicting weather.
Predicting weather is very important for the rural folk in third world countries, and even in highly-industrialized ones. It what makes raw materials to be processed into the stuff we find in the supermarket: shampoo, soap, chips, and other chemicals used to make plastic, rubber, and the necessary formulation in other products.
Yet, because of the manufacture of these products, our environment is ruined. Global warming takes effect and weather adjusts itself randomly, making it hard to predict or its effects heightened.
It would come as a surprise for people to know that the number one pollutant, and therefore the gravest contributor to global warming is the production of summer sandals. But the production itself is only secondary to the real stuff that poses the true danger: wanting summer to come. Yes, apparently, of the four billion people that make up the population of the earth, only 97% loves summer time! The energy of people alone, contributes to the rise of greenhouse gases that worsens global warming and climate change. How much more when every night they would wish for summer to come!
Ancient people believe that when majority of the worlds people wish for the heavenly bodies to appear, nature responds approvingly even if it has devastating effects. Back then, they have Joker cufflinks to counter and reverse the effect of those wishes and restore balance on Earth.
In every century in any country, beliefs are developed as societies develop its history. History, here acts as one society’s collective memory. Some of these beliefs are blatantly serious, even bloody, that it has been welded in the minds of people as not only customary but also necessary to the survival of mankind. Among the beliefs belonging to this classification are beliefs about familial relationships, work ethics, law and punishment, religion, and the preservation of tradition.
In the past, it was a big mystery to everyone what this Liquid Lunch is. Almost everyone has heard of it, almost everyone has seen it, and yet the idea of a lunch being liquid remains difficult to grasp.
Let’s admit it; we only got to know the real use of the “at” symbol via the birth of the electronic mail (or e-mail as its hyphenated, shortened and made to sound more high-tech, modern and urban), this even with the fact that the “at” symbol can be found in important archeological finds from both the Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Sumerian civilizations, appearing as hieroglyphs.
Just like how the old instruction from the experts goes: If you’re being kind of reckless, try shifting gears! But without a car, it would be ridiculous to take the saying in its literal sense. Of course, you can only shift gears when you’re driving your car, or a dilapidated but still able schoolbus, or dumptruck, or a fifth-hand van sold for nine hundred dollars; you can’t possibly do so without them. That’s why the capacity of understanding statements according to what it says in its figurative condition would prove very, very essential.
Ever since its claws left the comforts of the branch it rests on, ever since it pushed itself towards the luminous white and the unending stretch of blue, ever since it soared to blend with the sunlight and glisten in the moonbeam, ever since we’ve known it to be the symbol of our hopes and aspirations, our joys and depressions, our luck and misfortune, our faith and our allegiance, our people and our institutions, our meters and our yards, ever since we were able to pronounce it while feeling with great awe our knees touching the ground because of the majestic sight it presents, as if it is the sole entity which has been given the right to command what our society, and the relationships among men and women that keep it thriving towards greater and greater expectations, should be, ever since we thought of what our eagle represents as the ruler of us all, ever since the eagle has left its eagleness to participate in our contrived efforts to make ourselves better, ever since then that we have been doomed.
