cufflinks nba heat large 01 Feel the HeatThings are heating up in Miami in the NBA.  With LeBron James’ surprise move to Miami in the off-season, the Heat has just gained one of the best basketball since Michael Jordan.  With Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade in their roster, the Heat may be back to its winning temperature and is sure to be one of the most closely watched basketball squads in the NBA.  It may be a bit premature to say that they’ll be able to challenge the reigning NBA Champion L.A. Lakers this upcoming season, but anything’s possible, and with this wide ranging amount of talent concentrated in this team they have a good shot.  The Miami Heat will need the sixth man more than ever if they expect to make the most of what they’ve got.  Naturally, if you’re a professional you can’t be expected to paint yourself red, black and gold, much less wear a Miami jersey to the office.  But you can wear these Miami Heat Cufflinks and deck out your place with posters.  NBA cufflinks, each with the specified team’s logo on them, will give you all the team spirit you can muster for your preferred court squad with all the luster and sparkle silver cufflinks can give to your formal attire.  You can wear them on or off the court or in or out of the office, anywhere you’d like.  So while it may not be classy for you to strip down and smear body paint all over yourself like you used to before you became responsible and professional, you can still cheer on the Heat to glory and look great doing it.

Rise of the Huskies

cufflinks ncaa washington large 01 Rise of the Huskies This has been a very rough decade for the University of Washington Huskies.  Following the difficulties and problems of the first half of the decade involving the overlooking of atrocious behavior of several team-members and other people, the Washington Huskies have struggled just to regain the semblance of a football program.  Even with the talent of QB Jake Locker the Huskies had a rough go of it, only now beginning to build a team that looks like a viable contender in the Pac-10.  With Head Coach Steve Sarkisian, and the recent upset they gave to the mighty USC Trojans last year, the Huskies are poised to make a good solid comeback in this very tough collegiate conference.  Whether you’re an alumni or a student you’ll be glad to show your support for the Huskies this year with a set of University of Washington Huskies Cufflinks.  These silver cufflinks feature the standard Washington purple and gold “W” logo that will look prominent and stylish on any shirt cuff.  Perfect not just for football but for all the sports the Huskies play, at home or on the road, they make great keepsakes and gifts for new students, graduates, and long-time alumni, all of whom need to do their part in rebuilding the Huskies glory.  NCAA cufflinks are marvelous to collect, and are a solid part of pride in one’s alma mater.  It may take a few seasons for the Huskies to get into fighting trim on the gridiron, but they’re on the right path with good leadership that will instill a firm foundation of character they need to return to greatness.

The Masons

CD 1133 The MasonsTo be a member of the Masons is to be a part of a great heritage.  George Washington himself was a Mason, as was several other of America’s Founding Fathers, all of whom helped shaped the destiny of a continent when they sought independence from Great Britain.  There have been some wild rumors and accusations about the Masons, from some sort of nefarious involvement with Jack the Ripper to being the holders of sacred relics recovered from long deceased sea-going pirates.   In truth, this esoteric society is a significant protector of the arts and is a major source of charity and good will in the communities where their Lodges are located at, among which are the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.   Their members are often men in very good standing and adhere to a high degree of morality as espoused by the Supreme Law, which, among Christian Masons is the King James Bible.  Any Freemason would be proud to display his membership to this fine fraternity with a set of Sterling Silver Masonic Cufflinks.  These silver cufflinks feature the symbol of the Masons, the mason’s square and the architect’s compass around the capital letter “G” which stands for God, of no particular faith or denomination, amidst a sea of blue.  These career related cufflinks are great gifts for initiates and Master Masons alike, perfect to wear during lodge meetings and proceedings and are sure to strike up a conversation with non-members about the nature of who the Masons are and what they actually do, and you might end up finding your very next initiate in this manner.

For the Piano

cufflinks music piano keys large 01 For the Piano The piano is a marvelous instrument to learn and master.  Piano players are beloved throughout the world in part because the music they play is soothing to the ear and delightful all at once.  Some of the greatest pieces of music ever conceived can only be expressed properly with the piano and it takes lots of practice to develop the cadence, the skill and the talent to play as effortlessly as a typist might crack out a memo.  When you hear a pianist play Ballade No. 3 in G minor, Opus 23 by Frederic Chopin live, it’ll take your breath away in a manner no six string guitar strummer can manage to do.  Where the guitar is common, the piano is classy, and can delight and amaze in ways the six string metal rocker wishes he could accomplish with the same amount of effort.  Piano Keys Cufflinks have only the distinctive seven white and five black key pattern, but they’ll be a welcome gift to the pianists in your life, both novice and professional players, and will be a delight to those who see them on their sleeves accompanying a nocturne or the aforementioned Chopin piece.  Music cufflinks are great even for the six-string warriors who would like to wear something a bit more formal than the grunge, gothic, or just blue jeans and t-shirts they’re used to wearing, and silver cufflinks add a bit of polish and sparkle that comes with their exquisite beauty that adorns fine music.  Talent to move the soul with beauty is something that should be treasured.

Attack Helicopter Cufflinks

cufflinks armed forces apache helicopter large 01 Attack Helicopter CufflinksThe AH-64 Apache is the world’s greatest and deadliest helicopter.  Descended in part from the highly successful AH-1 Cobra, the Apache is a flying arsenal of heavy weapons and missiles designed principally to defeat the predicted advanced wave of Soviet armor pounding through the Fulda Gap from East Germany into West Germany.  With highly sophisticated targeting and acquisition systems, forward looking infrared cameras and a 30mm automatic cannon that can be tracked to the pilot’s or co-pilot’s head so that he may direct the gun precisely to what he’s looking at, and with a Hellfire anti-tank missile system that can punch through even thickest tank armor at ranges in excess of ten miles out, it’s no wonder why the Apache features prominently for major US Army operations wherever they’re needed.  The Iraqis called the aircraft “Silent Death,” because often it would strike so far away they’d never hear the sound of the helicopter until it was too late.  The Apache is also one of the most highly survivable aircraft flying, with the aircraft sustaining damages that would cripple lesser aircraft with nary a scratch on either pilot.  The Apache Helicopter Cufflinks feature this remarkable aircraft’s “Longbow” variant which features the mast-mounted fire control radar against a silver coin relief, armed with full stores of sixteen Hellfire missiles.  It is a great gift to any military enthusiast or Army aviator.  Silver cufflinks such as these would look great on the sleeve of any dress uniform or formal wear and military cufflinks are excellent collector’s items and a tribute to the brave men and women who serve and protect this nation.

When the Curse was Broken

cufflinks mlb 2005 red sox large 01 When the Curse was BrokenWhen Babe Ruth left the Boston Red Sox to play for the New York Yankees in the off-season of 1918-1919, the Sox was one of the most successful ball teams in the majors, winning five of their first fifteen chances at the World Series, with their last one against the Chicago Cubs in 1918 with the Babe’s help.  Then, after the Babe left, for the next 86 years the Red Sox would never win another World Series until 2004 when they finally reversed the Curse of the Bambino.  It is a story of great close calls and heartbreak only to find deep exuberant joy at the 2004 World Series when the Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals in a four game sweep with Cardinal Edgar Renteria hit for the final out in one of the most amazing stories in baseball.  The 2004 Champion Red Sox Cufflinks are a great way to remember the day when the curse was finally ended and a new era was born.  These silver cufflinks feature the logo of the Boston Red Sox in a circle announcing them as the 2004 World Series Champions, which make them prized collector’s items among other MLB cufflinks and other baseball memorabilia.  Though the Red Sox may not be doing too hot lately, these cufflinks are a great reminder that nothing lasts forever and there’s always another game, another season, and another team waiting to take the field and reclaim glory once again.  It’s only just a matter of time.  Hopefully not another eighty years.

To the Father of the Groom!

cufflinks weddings father of groom large 01 To the Father of the Groom! It seems that weddings revolve a lot around the bride.  Probably for the reason that most men don’t dream and think about their own wedding day even a fraction as much as women do.  After all, little girls dream of getting married while little boys are too busy smashing cars and building forts and playing football.  So in hours or days after the proposal, the bride often takes charge or hires a wedding planner who then turns around and looks to what the bride wants because men have deferred the wedding day itself to them.  Which is a huge shame, because it’s for both the bride and the groom, and the groom ought to not only have a say in what he wants for the wedding but some creative collaboration as well.  Weddings shouldn’t only be about her, and to that end the father of the groom should be honored as well as the father of the bride.  By presenting him with Father of the Groom Cufflinks, we begin a trend that will make such affairs less about her and more about both.  These wedding cufflinks feature a pair of champagne glasses toasting to the newlywed couple against a field of black beset with a gold arrangement.  Gold cufflinks are a great way to honor those who are special to you, and at a wedding give the father of the groom something to remember the occasion of his son getting married.  Just a small step, but great changes often have small beginnings.

The Great American Beer

August 12th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Novelty Cufflinks

The Great American BeerThis is a great time for beer, especially for Americans.  When Prohibition was enacted, the American beer industry had been all but eradicated, with some of the larger producers making non-alcoholic beer to stay afloat during the decade that alcohol had been banned by law.  When Prohibition was repealed, it was as though beer makers had to learn from scratch how to make it, and though there were improvements such as canned beer and pasteurization methods, American beers became rather pedestrian compared to the nuanced lagers and ales coming out of Europe and Mexico.  Recently, roughly twenty years ago or so, laws regulating the production of alcohol was lightened to allow amateur brewers to experiment and brew their own suds which would spark an explosion of “micro-breweries” that has not only revitalized the American beer industry, but has created something of a renaissance, giving the typical American palate access to tastes that he would not otherwise get unless he traveled abroad.  Today, home-brewing has grown into a great hobby that anyone with space in their refrigerator can do, and a set of Beer Cufflinks demonstrates your appeal to this age old beverage.  These silver cufflinks feature a stein of either lager or ale (your choice) with a nice foamy head that all good beer should have.  Connoisseur cufflinks such as these offer a wonderful way to share your interests in an unobtrusive way that is both professional and delightful, and is likely to spark a conversation or two about the finer aspects of a drink that’s universally beloved.  Bring a pair of steins on your arm next time you go to your local beerfest.
